delirious

A different kind of Frankie, made completely of balloons. Doesn't he look blissfully happy?

Hallo-scream

This is because I haven't posted in a while. However, it does illustrate how I feel sometimes after a whole day with students...

Rusty?

Stony Brook State Park, Dansville, NY

At first glance, your brain tells you this wall is "rusty". Upon closer inspection, you see that it is actually covered with a rust colored moss. I had to touch it just to be sure.

A Man of Many Faces

Ok, I don't write much on this blog, but a couple of chaps I admire and had the pleasure of working with on the short film Penance last summer, have recently launched their own comedy sketch channel on YouTube called Daily Fiber Films. Seeing that I'd like to help promote their talents in any way I can, I'm here to shamelessly plug you with some Fiber by encouraging you to check out their first installment, titled BFF - it's funny!

Raymond as Dennis, a young adult with Asperger's Syndrome

Taste-testing the puke; perfect flavor!

Which brings me to these pictures I took onset of the very talented Raymond McAnally, an accomplished actor who played a lead role in the film. His role was serious, but off camera he had everyone rolling with laughter with his stories and characters. To top it off, he's a true gentleman, kind, and very professional. Check out his website to see reels of his various projects, including his work on Penance. Be sure to meet Travis - he is a hoot!

Getting his Chippendale's on

The other half of this Dynamic Fiber Duo is the writer and director of Penance, Ryan Gould, a
very talented photographer and film maker who was generous and kind enough to let a rookie like myself, work with his art director. Check out his website to see a clip of his award winning film PG.

Ryan, probably wondering when I'm going to stop taking pictures of everything...

flower child

This is Max. He is an indoor cat. Max escapes every now and then, and despite the fleeting freedom, doesn't venture far from home. He likes to help me garden; I think he's just taunting me that he channeled his inner Houdini.

Having recently received some nice comments about my pix from a few folks, I was inspired to try and capture some of the light during tonight's magic hour. Looking to shoot some flowers, I got much more than I expected!

Is this not the most gorgeous dog you've ever seen? This sled dog absolutely captivated me.

what a fruit

Faces in the most unlikely places. How many faces do you see when you take a moment to really look? This totally random face appeared after I tossed Emma's banana into the basket.

It made me think of a very cool website where people upload the faces they find in different places - Check it out - it might just change how you look at things! Also a great place to visit if you're feeling blue in the slightest...

just a building

Haven't posted in a while... walked out from a parking garage after the St. Paddy's parade to the sight of this building, and just found it interesting and large. Funny how I spend time in other cities checking so much out, yet don't take the time to do that in my own city. So much to see and photograph. This summer it will be my mission to make it downtown on a regular basis and document my summer city discoveries.

mini land - the fun continues

This is the port as you leave Corona Del Mar, CA.

Click on the picture to enlarge for the best effect.

This is too fun...currently scouring my archives to find pictures that would work with this "miniature" effect, and tried this one on a whim. So far it's my fave!

Hmm...this may be a series in the making.

Superman's Planet?

This will be my first post of a picture taken with my new camera. Boy do I have a lot to learn!

This glass sculpture found in the lobby of the Atlantis hotel reminds me of what Superman's lair looked like in the first movie - all these icy looking things jutting up from the ground.

This is my second attempt at this picture. I did a little tweaking, and I like this version better.
